Just like the name suggests, it’s a story about how he female lead of this story flirts with the villain’s dad.
Let me introduce the female lead of this story first. Her name is Yerenika. Well, that’s what her body’s name is. Her soul belongs in our modern words, where she died. After her death she woke up in Yerenika’s body and decided to go along with it.
Now who is Yerenika? She’s a fictional character our female lead read about in a book. Yerenika is a simple side character that dies somewhere in the middle of the story.
The actual novel that the female lead reads starts with Yerenika’s sister getting kidnapped during her pregnancy. It progresses with the appearance of the main characters of that book, Yerenika’s niece and a male lead. Naturally it also has a villain in it.
The villain ends up killing his father at the age of 11 using black magic. Now our female lead, using Yerenika’s body is determined not to let anyone meet their actual tragic ends from the original book. And that includes the villain’s dad.
Now let’s enter this main story.
Yerenika, the princess of Livovny and possessed by our female lead, is a sweet girl. Her hair is soft pink and eyes bright blue. Her first mission is to stop the king of Bellecourt and the original villain’s dad, Euredian, from kidnapping her pregnant sister.
Thus when the knights of the Bellecourt attacks the Livovny mansion, Yerenika hides her sister but ends up getting kidnapped herself.
Euredian is a total hottie. So I’d say it was worth it.
Soon after getting kidnapped, Yerenika found out that she’s sensitive to magic. What does it mean? She basically feels like she’s going to die every time magic is used in her presence.
Anyway… we meet the villain of this story in Bellecourt. And that is Soleia Elodia, the woman who’s trying to get Euredian to marry her. Oh! And she’s a black magician.
Putting that aside, after somewhat successfully completing the mission of protecting her sister, she takes it upon herself to save Euredian, who is fated to die by his son’s hand before he even reaches the age of 40.
And this is how Yerenika’s mission of marrying Euredian began. By flirting with him.
The story continues pretty interesting. Euredian is also very intrigued by Yerenika.
Being near Euredian is also healthy for Yerenika since magic stops affecting her because of his divine powers.
Yeah. Euredian has divine powers. He’s the descendent of a God, Laurus. Laurus is a quirky character but we’ll come to that later.
As time is passing, Soleia is using black magic to torment Yerenika by nightmares. Those nightmares were pretty insane. It started to affect Yerenika slowly but she keeps insisting that she’s fine.
But we all know how this sequence of events ends. Yes, Yerenika collapsing in Euredian’s arms is how this nightmare ends.
The panel was pretty exciting. I might have screamed a little while reading it.
Anyway, it still took quite some time for them to expose Soleia and her black magic. She kept threatening Euredian that she’ll hurt Yerenika if he doesn’t marry her. But our hero Euredian doesn’t fall for those. In the end, Yerenika does get hurt but they also chase away Soleia.
As it turns out Soleia wasn’t the only villain here. There was another creature called Hydeth, who’s the ruler of the underworld and brother of Laurus.
Yerenika somehow summons a part of Laurus in this world. All is well so now it’s time for the main couple to have their happy every after?
Uh huh. Not so soon.
Euredian lets Yerenika go back to Livovny for her safety while he purifies every trace of black magic in the country.
It’s pretty weird logic but whatever.
After a time-skip of 2 years we see them back together. Its heaven on earth for all the readers. They get together again. Yerenika decides to keep Euredian hidden away from her family and successfully does so until the villain appears in Livovny and kidnaps Yerenika.
I know. Pretty frustrating. They just met after two years! Let them be happy!
But nope. Either way, it’s the final battle.
They win it, Yerenika who somehow has a knack for being unconscious for days ends up sleeping for a month.
After she does wake up, Euredian is insufferable.
He doesn’t leave her alone, there’s always someone guarding her. And not to mention gets very jealous every time Laurus even talks to Yerenika. It’s cute!
Thus Euredian ends up proposing to Yerenika in a very romantic but quiet way. I had tears in my eyes while reading that part. This, also is the last chapter of the manhwa.
If I have to give my opinion about this manhwa, I’ll say its pretty interesting for an Isekai romance.
Laurus is a very interesting character, he’s powerful, a god. But he’s quirky and funny as well. He’s very fond of Yerenika but at the same time makes fun of her as well. And he’s beautiful. Like seriously!
He has long white hairs and red eyes. Wears a robe will a deep V neckline that shows his perfect pectorals. He’s a walking talking thirst trap.
But there’s another character I totally love and that’s Thierry Schumart. He’s the highest priest of the temple of Laurus. And seriously, why is this priest so hot? There were parts where I thought he might have some secret alliance with Soleia.
But I was wrong. The guy is genuinely good and kind. I don’t know how. Black hair, golden eyes and a total feast of a face. He could give the king a run for his money. But that’s just my half in love mind talking.
The story was nice. It did have a few parts where I wanted to smack Euredian upside the head. There were also few chapters I was totally swooning over him as well. Though I did swoon more over Thierry.
The story kept getting interesting and the ending felt quite satisfying to read. The characters had their own attributes that made their impact on the story stronger. Laurus had a pretty important role in the story, same with many other side characters.
The side characters are also mentioned quite often. It helps the readers not to forget about them entirely. The main characters don’t overshadow the plot. The story keeps up with the romance and quirkiness.
But I’m still waiting for some side stories. I need more of their story. But otherwise the story ties up all the loose ends pretty well.
The art is really good. It’s detailed where it needs to be. The chibi versions of the characters were really cute. I even downloaded a few beautiful panels to use as wallpaper for my phone!
It was a rollercoaster ride!
