As a beginner, it’s always best to start with something less intense, less complicated plotline, and obviously, comparatively less amount of characters. it’s always best to start simple and go from there.
Some people have different preference, that’s great. But when you’re a new book reader and you try to delve into the depths of it from the get go, it can become messy. You can even get so overwhelmed that you lose interest completely. Everything has a way of approach and getting overwhelmed is a very wrong approach when it comes to reading books.
As a beginner, you should start with simple adventure or soft romance. Some people start with Harry Potter. Not a bad choice, since it already has a movie series. And it’s famous. Though, I wouldn’t recommend it. I find it to be a bit too complicated for my taste, but each to their own.
The Appetizing Adventure
If I have to recommend, I’d suggest Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan. Has 5 books in the main series, have more in spinoffs, awesome storyline, funny character and monologue. Not forcing anyone, just a recommendation.
Some Romance
Moving forward, there are some pretty awesome romance books out there. Five Feet Apart
and Fault In Our Stars
are two of those. Why mention them? Because I loved them, duh. The books are great, the story is great, the characters have their moments, teenage romance that’s not too intense. Pretty good for people who want low on the intense bar but high on the emotions.
A Side Serving of Intensity
Additionally, there are some teenage, high school romance that ARE intense. Among them, I like Million Kisses In Your Lifetime
by Monica Murphy a bit too much. It’s the 2nd book from her Lancaster Prep. Series. It’s an awesome book. Teenage, high school, romance, a bit too intense, but very emotionally charging. The romance is on point. Totally worth a read.
The Sweetness of Emotion
You can even start with Thousand Boy Kisses
by Tillie Cole. Another teenage romance, Childhood best friends to lovers. Just a fair warning, It’s very emotional. So read at your own risk. It’s a bit intense on the love and the emotion aspect. Made me cry, could happen to you too.
In the end, it depends on the reader what they want to read, where they want to start their journey. The Journey into the world of books is always beautiful. So, it really doesn’t matter how you decide to do it.
JUST DIVE IN!
