The Last Olympian, as the name suggests, is the last book of The Percy Jackson series.

This book is where we get the final battle!

The Final Battle

This book starts with the death of one Half blood from the story.

One can understand how this story proceeds from that alone.

Following the death, Percy gets to visit his father’s kingdom, underwater.

There he also gets to meet his another brother.

Percy gets to know about the famous Prophecy that more or less indicates his death.

Accepting his fate, he decides to visit the underworld with Nico.

And then he more or less drowns himself in the river Styx.

I have no idea how the son of the sea god does that.

Anyway, his body becomes invincible and the war begins.

The war is super cool! Percy causes a little Hurricane in the middle of Manhattan,

Grover grows a maple syrup.

We meet all the gods and finally see them actually fight.

And the day is saved!

Oh and lots of people die. And I mean a LOT of people die.

My Final Feelings For This

Reading this book was a test to my patience.

The romantic tension between Percy and Annabeth was peak!

Annabeth almost died trying to save Percy. And that was super cute.

That scene was almost the cutest.

I also learned from Percy that taking a dip in the underworld river Styx isn’t fun.

I had plans to visit but guess I’ll have to change it.

Percy gets to fight the Minotaur again. Lucky dude!

Lots of People die and some of the deaths were really heartbreaking,

But the most heartbreaking death was the end death. The time the main antagonist dies.

More like, when the vessel used by the main villain dies.

Again, he was my favorite character and his death hit me the most.

I’m pretty sure I cried when I read that part for the first time. I cried when I read it for the 5th time as well.

But the actual ending of this book soothed the pain a little. Percy and Annabeth get the most romantic underwater kiss. It was so beautiful that the internet is still filled with fanarts of that scene.

The best part of the ending was when the gods offer Percy immortality. But then he turns them down.

That part made me jump up from the bed and cheer for him.

And I’ll say I’m still cheering his choices.

The series ended with a happy note but the pain remained fresh. But this is still one of my favorite series.
