The Lost Hero is the first book of the series The Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan. This is basically the spinoff series of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

Jason Grace

Jason Grace Doesn’t remember how he ended up on the bus. Somehow everyone knows him there, but he doesn’t. As it turns out, his memories is wiped clean. Except for his name.

So who is Jason Grace? He’s the Son of Jupiter, the Roman form of Zeus.

And now he’s here at camp Half blood.

New Quest

The story is mostly about Jason and revolves around his memories. But there are two other characters. One is Piper and another is Leo. Piper is the beauty and Leo is the mechanic. They have their own stories and trauma. Just like Jason.

Jason is also related to Thalia.

Anyway, into the main story.

Percy is lost and Jason comes into the camp. Now Jason needs to go and save this captured Goddess.

Who got captured? Hera.

Yes that bitch.

Leo finds a metallic Dragon and repairs it. And that becomes their vehicle of choice for this quest.

Lots of trauma and surprising betrayal later, they finally save the goddess.

New Feelings

I found this book a little boring. I did hope to see Percy but saw Jason instead.

Bonding with a new character took a lot of time than expected and by that time, the book was half finished.

I do love Jason. He’s a responsible character. Mature and witty.

Loved Leo being his quirky but talented self. And he can use Fire!

I hated Piper. Don’t know why. I just hated her.

On the other hand, I couldn’t care less about Hera getting captured. So this book was really boring for me.

The fight scenes were peak. The way Jason uses lightning and Leo is just a cool mechanic. Those powers were super cool.

But again, Piper’s powers were sweet talking? It’s like she talk someone to do anything for her. Which isn’t the best combat power.

I did not like it very much. I also didn’t like the way she keeps clinging to Jason from the very beginning.

But I believe it only felt like that because all the characters are new and totally unfamiliar.

The book was good. It had interesting check points.

A lot of new characters were introduced.

So it was a little bit hard to keep track of all the names.

Not to mention the Roman mythology making it’s debut here.

Overall I didn’t hate the book that much. But I found it awfully boring
