The Son of Neptune is the second book of the series “Heroes of Olympus” by Rick Riordan. And this is the book where we get our Percy back

Percy Is Back

Like I already said, Percy is back in this book. But the guy lost his memories. Except for his own name and the name of Annabeth.

True romantic at heart!

So, the book starts with him fighting off Medusa’s sisters.

And then meeting Juno, the Roman version of Hera, on his way to the Roman camp.

At the same time, he also meets Hazel and Frank.

They are very very important characters.

Hazel can summon valuable gems from the earth, Being the daughter of Pluto, Roman Hades.

And Frank can shapeshift. Super cool!

There he also meets Reyna, who’s oddly familiar to him.

We know why.

Anyway, this is where they find out, that the dead has stopped staying dead. Every person they kill is coming back to life.

What could that mean? Well, the god of death has been kidnapped.

How do you do that? No idea.

Oh! and the god of death IS NOT Hades.

It’s Thanatos.

And a kidnapped god means a new adventure!

My Excitement Skyrocketed

First of all, this book was super awesome!

On one hand, we finally get Percy back!

On the other hand, we also get two new cool characters, Hazel and Frank!

At the same time, we get to see Reyna again. And we also get to see more of her character traits.

Above all, we are gifted a tiny sneak peak of Nico.

And Percy is no longer invincible. Which is super cool!

Moreover, without Annabeth around Percy, we get to see Percy’s witty side.

While it’s not something entirely new, it’s a great addition to the story.

While reading, there was this part where Percy kind of drowns in a quicksand. I loved that part. Seeing the son of the sea god drowning is like finding an Easter Egg.

As the story progresses, we also meet another important character, Ella, the harpy. She loves book!

She’s me!

She becomes one of the major characters in this series.

So overall, I loved this book. I got Percy back along with his sass. It was awesome!

However, this book wasn’t boring like the previous one. But that’s probably because it had Percy in it. He tends to make things interesting!
